Hi everyone, and welcome to Techie Momster. I am a crafty kind of person. A few years ago, I was cross-stitching, I have tons of my late father's jeans to make a denim quilt for my brother (that's a whole 'nother post), and I have started knitting recently.
I am working on my first knitting project, a ribbed scarf. So far, I have knit a 5' scarf, and have another 1' or so to go. I figure I will quit when I run out of yarn. I started doing this because I can't sit in front of the TV with nothing else to do. I was using the laptop in front of the TV, but there's only so much that I am interested in.
My great-aunt Bernadine was always knitting, and had knit me several pairs of mittens when I was a child. Realizing that I am in Florida, not many people I know want mitten knit for them. After this winter, though, they just might! Anyway, I would like to be skilled enough to start knitting those cute knit stuffed animals. They are too cute!!!
DramaMama now wants a scarf, and TechieDadster has asked me to knit him a Dr Who scarf. I had never heard of such a thing until he asked. Did you know that it is 20+ feet long? Do you know how long it will take me to knit?
Anyway, knitting helps me stay away from the after-dinner snacks, like ice cream, cookies and brownies that I crave when I am bored. Knitting keeps my hands busy, and I can see progress everytime I pick it up! And, in the process, I am feeding my crafty side, and my need to make useful things.
Knitting works for me!

What's not working for me: Potty Training
TechieDadster and I have been working on potty training with SuperKid for what seems like forever. SuperKid mostly gets the pee-pee in the pot, but poop? Not so much. We are currently bribing him with a quarter everytime he poops in the pot. 4 quarters, and he can buy a new car. But, this does not seem to be motivating him to poop in the pot.
SuperKid is rather stubborn, not unlike my parents (eh hem). I really don't have any idea what I can do to motivate him to poop in the pot. Previously, we have tried cars and candy. I don't think a sticker chart will work, because I don't think he is thinking that far ahead.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me on potty training a 4-year-old SuperKid?

Wow... dead blog walking...
So, it's been 8, 9 months since I posted anything here. There is lots that has happened, but I can't remember any of it. I've spent a lot of time on Facebook... Of, too much time on Facebook, lurking, but not talking to anyone.
Maybe I should start posting more often, but really, who am I posting for? I haven't told anyone about this blog, so the only one who will see this is... me.
Anyway, there is lots going on in my life right now... lots of good material.
